We provide toys and school supplies to
refugee children.
ToyBridge held the first meeting of directors
on
22 March 2022 and elected the following
President: Mirela M Ivan PhD
Secretary: Sarp Aksel MD
Treasurer: Mark Paul Weisenborn
ToyBridge is a public charity providing
assistance and comfort to refugee children
in
areas of conflict.
Our organization was founded in response to
the
War in Ukraine 2022 which has displaced
over 1
million children.
The needs of displaced
children span many
domains, including health,
safety, education, and
mental well-being. We
are led by practitioners
experienced in medical
care, risk management,
logistics, and
area studies.
The name of the organization, ToyBridge,
was inspired by images of the Sighetu
Marmatiei bridge connecting Ukraine
with Romania.
This bridge was lined with toys so that
children crossing on foot could enter a
safe space with a happy thought.
The name also refers to the opportunity to make a
bridge of understanding and peace through the
innocence and love embodied in toys for children.
The founding directors of the organization are
President Mirela M Ivan PhD, Secretary Sarp Aksel
MD, and Treasurer Mark Paul Weisenborn.
